You might think you're funny for assigning me to this world, but it was fairly pleasant all things considered. No greater threat, no character development, just four giant multi-colored apes doing whatever. Rolling around the meadows, watching whatever came on their television tubbies, averting our eyes to any of the giant bunnies mating (they didn't understand that last one).
They were extremely open to me drawing them. Infant-minded subjects such as these absolutely love expressing themselves without boundaries, whether it be through paint on the walls, running around, and anything else that's very simple to understand. You just have to be patient with them, and they will love you if you respond in gentle simplicity.
If I may go into detail... From my experiences with handling children, I'd assume the Teletubbies' mental age to be somewhere around 3 to 5 years old. I've experienced human children ages 1 - 2 that will hate you no matter what you do; I'm a stranger, I'm scary, and they absolutely don't like close contact. Now when they reach ages 3 to 5, they're nervous but possible to soothe. You can distract them from potentially upsetting things.
Children ages 6 and 10 are fairly cool; they're very outgoing and curious to know about everything and what you're doing. It's very much recommended to just outright tell them what you are ("I am an alien from another world, here to draw whatever's on your world") without any babytalk. They'll treat me like I'm a cooler Santa Claus. And, like Santa Claus, they'll believe years later you were just trying to impress them.
When you reach children ages 11 to 14, it highly depends; they're either very childish or very mature--they switch a lot. Human hormones, I suppose. At that point I treat them like unpredictable adults; do not tell them what you are or they will scream at you for "not taking them seriously." Nobody has anything nice to say about middle schoolers, and I can't break that mold.
Then you reach children ages 15 to 18, who are basically adults now with a lack of experience. Once again, you can just tell them what you are to get a rise out of them and they won't bother you.
When dealing with children, you can't group everyone under 18 under the "minors" personality as they all require a certain type of care to get around them quickly. What was I supposed to be talking about, Teletubbies? Oh right, yeah. They were amazing to work with. The Baby Sun was unnerving though
